Waffled French Toast

This is a super quick and tasty breakfast, and is a french toast/waffle hybrid! I saw it on AllRecipes the other day and thought it looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. It is yummy! The strawberry syrup is great, and the original recipe calls for fresh but I think frozen work best for this, they are nice and soft and when you microwave them to thaw they get mushy and juicy which works GREAT for stirring in a little maple syrup and topping these waffled french toast slices with!

Start with just a few ingredients - frozen strawberries, syrup, milk, eggs and bread!
Mix up the eggs and add in about 1/3 cup of milk and whip together until well combined.

Put about a cup of frozen strawberries in a small bowl and set them to defrost in the microwave until no solid frozen pieces remain and you can stir and smoosh them easily! (Yes, I think that's a technical term)!
Next dip the bread pieces on both sides in egg mixture.
Put that on the pre-heated waffle iron and let it get nice and toasty!
Meanwhile add syrup to the strawberries and stir together, you could even put this in the blender if you wanted a smooth syrup without chunky strawberry pieces.
And there you have it! Waffled french toast! :)
Put a few strawberries on top with some syrup and enjoy!

You could add cinnamon and vanilla to the egg mixture if you liked, or more syrup, less strawberries, or a dusting of powdered sugar, etc. However you normally enjoy your french toast and/or waffles would work great!
